Target Audience:
Vitreoretinal practitioners
Program Goal:
This symposium is designed to update practicing clinicians on the clinical indications and new therapies for age-related macular degeneration and retinal vascular diseases.
Educational Objectives:
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Identify emerging therapies for retinal vascular diseases including retinal venous obstruction and diabetic retinopathy.
- Identify emerging therapies in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration.
- Describe effective evaluation and follow-up strategies for patients with AMD and retinal vascular conditions
- Discuss the pathophysiology and pathways of these new treatments.
- Identify ways to integrate these new treatments into clinical practice
(This program is designed to address the following ABMS/IOM competencies: Medical knowledge, Patient care, Systems-based practice, Practice-based learning and improvement, Provide patient-centered care, and Employ evidence-based practice.)
