New England Eye Center is a specialty eye care practice at Tufts Medical Center, affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine. Our primary facilities are in the historic Biewend Building (above) on Tremont Street in the theatre district. We also have offices at Floating Hospital for Children (Boston), and in Brighton, Brookline, Cambridge, Framingham, Watertown, Wellesley and Leominster.
The Eye Center is a complete clinical and technical center for the testing and treatment of all types of eye diseases and visualproblems.
New England Eye Center's Cynthia Mattox, MD was awarded the 2014 Outstanding Advocate Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She was nominated both by the American Glaucoma Society and Women in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Mattox is director of our Brighton office at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and is Vice Chair of the Dept. of Ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center!
For Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Director of the New England Eye Center-Brookline, Sergey Urman, MD and his sister, Adult Primary Care Physician and faculty member of the Friedman School of Nutrition Yana Urman, MD, practicing medicine is in their blood. Their father is a physiatrist at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and his two brothers served many years as an internist and an anesthesiologist, respectively.
