Dr. Sokol is an internationally recognized authority on visual evoked potential testing, electroretinography (ERG), and psychophysical evaluation of vision. With Dr. Gerald A. Fishman, he co-authored the American Academy of Ophthalmology's manual on electrophysiologic testing (1990). He is a leading research investigator in the field of vision evaluation in children. His special interests include retinal degenerations, vision evaluation in children with multiple congenital anomalies and functional visual loss.
