Ophthalmic Reconstruction & Orbital
Surgery Fellowship Program
This is a one-year Fellowship that primarily utilizes
the resources of the New England Eye Center, the Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary, and the Beth Israel Hospital. These institutions
are affiliated with Tufts and Harvard Universities.
The program is designed
to train physicians who have a commitment
to teaching and research, as well as
clinical practice. Experience will be
obtained by participation in the care
of patients with NEEC physicians. Opportunities
will be provided for training in orbital
anatomy, pathology, dermatology, radiology
and related fields.
The Fellow is expected to carry out a clinical
or basic science research program. If possible, this research should
be planned by the beginning of the Fellowship year so that a thesis
can be completed by the end of that Period.
This Fellowship has been approved by the American
Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The Fellow
is expected to submit an application for membership and a thesis
to the Society during or within one year after completion of the
Fellowship.
