from State University of New York

at the New England Eye Center

BOSTON, MA(June 4, 2006) - An Honorary Doctor of Science degree was conferred upon Dr. Eli Peli, Director of the Vision Rehabilitation Service at the New England Eye Center by the State University of New York, State College of Optometry, during it's 32nd Commencement. "We are very proud of Dr. Peli. He is a leader in Vision Rehabilitation care and research and we are honored to have him as part of our team here at New England Eye Center" states Jay S. Duker, M.D., Chairman and Director of the New England Eye Center.

Dr. Peli is a leading expert in vision rehabilitation research, he was the first to propose and test the use of computerized enhancement as a visual aid, and has developed numerous visual aids used around the world. Dr. Peli is available for consultation in vision rehabilitation services at our Boston location. Known among his patients for his caring and personal attention, he combines an active clinical practice with research in low vision technology and aids.

Dr. Peli also holds the positions of Adjunct Professor, Tufts University School of Medicine and Professor of Ophthalmology at the Harvard Medical School. He is also a Senior Scientist, Moakley Scholar in Aging Eye Research at Schepens Eye Research Institute.
