The Oculoplastic
and Orbital Surgery Service specializes
in the evaluation and management of abnormalities
affecting the eyelids, orbital tissues,
and the tear drainage system.
Patients are seen on a referral basis for diagnosis
and treatment of a variety of problems including:
- thyroid eye disease
- tear duct obstruction and infection
- eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal trauma
- eyelid malpositions
- tumors affecting the eyelids and orbit
The Oculoplastic
and Orbital Surgery Service utilizes
the state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities
of the Tufts Medical Center including
the ultrasound, CT Scan and MRI facilities
of the Radiology Department and the Clinical
Pathology Laboratory. Members of the
Oculoplastic
and Orbital Surgery Service work closely
with members of other services at the
New England Eye Center, as well as with
members of other clinical departments
at the Floating Hospital and the Tufts Medical Center.
