The Vitreoretinal Service & Surgery Service at the New England Eye Center is dedicated to excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the posterior segment.

  • color Doppler imaging
  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • weekend and emergency retinal angiography - including fluorescein, ICG, and digital angiography - and laser treatment

Our dedicated operating rooms feature the latest in posterior segment technology including the following innovations:

  • argon and diode lasers equipped with both endo and indirect ophthalmoscope delivery systems
  • viscous fluid injection systems for both silicone oil and perfluorocarbon liquids
  • radioactive iodine (I125) plaques for treatment of intraocular tumors
