COVID-19 Safety Protocol Update
Keeping our patients safe is our number one priority. In response to the guidance provided by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and our local, state, and federal government, New England Eye Center is taking the appropriate steps to protect the safety of our patients and caregivers as we start to transition to a new normal and begin to allow more in-office visits.
We thank you for your patience and support as we create a safe office environment that will allow us to continue to provide exceptional eyecare. We will continue to offer telemedicine visits as we reopen our offices for in person appointments.
Please take a moment to review the following protocols we have developed regarding your upcoming medical visit.
New COVID Protocols For In-Person Appointments
- All patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms by a NEEC staff member both 48 hours and upon arrival for their appointment.
- All patients will be required to wear a face mask through the entirety of their medical visit unless the mask interferes with a medical or surgical procedure – masks will be provided to patients at all facility entry points.
- Visitors and patient companions will be limited and must abide by all regulations set for patients.
- All NEEC clinical staff members will be required to face masks and gloves when they have direct patient contact.
- All patients will be encouraged to disinfect their hands with hand sanitizer throughout their visit.
- All exam rooms, testing areas, and common areas within our practice are disinfected thoroughly on a daily basis with medical grade disinfecting products.
- We apologize for the inconveniences created by our reduced our schedules however limiting the number of patients to limit to control the amount of foot traffic in and out of our practices is mandated.
- Our waiting rooms are reconfigured to allow a minimum of 6 feet between seats.
- Decal floor markers have been placed throughout our facilities to promote social distancing.
